| In May and June 2024, the CCE hosted three workshops, bringing together experts and local stakeholders to gather insights for our partnership project aimed at developing a framework to help local authorities achieve net zero. Funded by Innovate UK's ‘Net Zero Living Programme’, the project has made considerable progress. This report highlights the key findings so far. |

| We published a report co-authored by CCE, Chapter Zero and Freshfields which mapped the landscape of legal risks and opportunities for companies as they navigate the net zero transition. Called ‘Navigating the landscape of climate law and regulation: A briefing for boards,’ the report followed an event series where non-executive directors heard key insights on pressing climate-related legal issues from legal experts, and discussed how these issues apply to their own businesses. |

It explores the link between investors’ legal duties and climate risks, barriers they face in addressing these issues, and possible solutions. While focusing on asset owners with diversified portfolios, the discussion also applies to investment managers. |

| We’re delighted to launch the Cambridge Seminar Series on Law and the Climate Series in partnership with Cambridge Zero, the Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance (C-EENRG) at the Department of Land Economy, the Cambridge Climate Society, the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, and the Cambridge University Law Society. The series will offer unique insights from a wide range of experts into the role of law and legal systems in response to the urgent issue of climate change. It is open to all and free to register. |
